2different Apple employees told me 40mm all day when I way trying it on. GF says 44mm! The traditional watch I have is a Tag Formula One which is 41mm but it's measured differently. 42mm seems like it would be perfect (but I don't want a series 3)!

Ingeneral around 16 cm or smaller wrist should go with the 40mm, and 17 cm or higher the 44mm. I'm right in the middle and went with the bigger watch for the above reasons. In
Ihad a used AW4 44mm to test before deciding if I want to switch from Garmin. I got convinced I want 40mm since I also used smaller Garmins, but once I saw 40mm and 44mm side by side in the store, I knew right away I can’t go with 40mm. It’s just too small and the bezel looks too large. My wrist is 170mm as well.
Ijust returned my 40mm SE for a 44mm. Can I keep the bands and use them on the 44mm? You can keep them, and the magnet will hold them in place but it will look strange and there will be a gap on both sides, dirt can get in, etc. If you can, use it only as a temporary solution until you can get proper fitting bands for the 44mm.
